New Pyxis & Oakton

Two new Pyxis units were delivered yesterday. These units will give us inhibitor (polymer) concentration and conductivity for the towers. There is one unit that is open and calibrated, the other unit can be taken to the north and may need to be calibrated.

The Oakton pH device is reading incorrect pH once again. I attempted to calibrate without much success. The number that it is reading is lower than the actual pH.

For Example I got many towers with 150 Total Alkalinity, but the Oakton was reading about 7.3. We know this pH cannot be correct because a 150 Total Alkalinity is a pH of at least 8.0 (see the first post titled ‘pH Sensor’)

Because of this, we will have to pay close attention to the Total Alkalinity we get for the towers. If this continues to occur with the Oakton device, we will have to use the pH strips to confirm the proper pH which correlates with the Total Alkalinity.
